Creating a Custom meal is a great way to easily log items you frequently eat together.
If your breakfast often consists of a custom granola recipe, a cup of coffee with cream and a navel orange, you can group these items together into a custom meal to easily add them to your diary. Once created, you can search and add the meal to your diary via the add food button.
You can create meals in two ways:
1. From the create meal button in the Foods tab
2. By selecting the ingredients in your diary that you want to combine into a meal
1. Create a Custom Meal via the Foods tab
Go to the Food tab
Tap Create Meal
Create meal will take you through the Meal editor, where you can enter a name for your meal as well as search and add meal items. At the end of the create meal process you will have a chance to review the meals nutrition information.
Enter a Name for your Meal
Choose a name that best describes your meal, one that you will easily be able to remember when searching for your meal to add to your diary.
Add Meal Items
Add meal items with by tapping the "+ ADD MEAL ITEM" button below the name field.
Tap Next or swipe the page to the left to review the meals nutrition information.
Check Your Work
View the nutritional breakdown of your meal and check over your work. You can save your meal now or swipe back to the previous screens to make edits.
Tap "Save Meal" to save your Custom Meal or "Save & Add to Diary" add the meal to your diary right away.
It will now populate your custom meal list on the foods tab. You can now search for your meal by name and add it to your diary just like any other food. To search for a custom food, recipe or meal more easily, search using the Custom tab in the Search dialogue. After adding a meal to your diary, you can easily explode it to view your meal's components separately.
2. Create a Custom Meal via Multi-Select in your Diary
Enable Multi Select
From your diary page, select the overflow menu in the top right corner of the screen. From the overflow menu, tap on Multi-Select.
Select your Meal items
Now tap on all of the items you want to be included in your meal before pressing the overflow menu button again in the top right corner of your screen.
From the overflow menu, select Create Meal From Selection
Save your Meal
You are now at the create meal screen again with all of the items you selected in your diary already listed as meal items. Here you can also add any other meal items you may want to include.
Now you can finish off naming and reviewing your meal following the steps above in option 1.
Delete/Retire a Custom Meal
You can delete your custom food by navigating to the Foods tab. Tap the menu in the top right corner, then choose delete/retire.
- Retiring a meal will remove the meal from your foods list but retain any diary entries you have already made.
- Deleting a meal deletes the food and all diary history.
