Add exercises to your diary to log additional calories you've burned based on the adjusted MET values given from the Compendium of Physical Activities.

Steps to Add Exercise to your Diary
Open the + Menu
Tap the orange + at the bottom of your screen and select Add Exercise from the main menu. Your recent exercise selections will populate the main search page.
Search for an Exercise
You can add exercise by:
- Select from recent list
- Text-based search
- Browse all
- Create custom exercise
Text-Based Search
Start by searching for an exercise using a text-based search. When you have found the appropriate exercise, select it from the list.
Select Effort level
Many of the exercises listed in our database offer multiple effort levels to account for differences in exertion. Select the one that most closely represents your exertion. If no options match, keep in mind, you always have the option to override your calories burned and enter a custom value.
Enter Duration
Enter the amount of time you have exercised to see the energy burned update based on the adjusted MET values given from the Compendium of Physical Activities for the amount of time entered. Keep in mind, you always have the option to override your energy burned and enter a custom value.
Adjust Energy Burned (Optional)
Cronometer estimates the energy you've burned based on the adjusted MET values given from the Compendium of Physical Activities. If you need to adjust this value for any reason, you can simply override the calculated value by tapping inside the numeric field and entering your own energy burned.
Add a Timestamp (Gold Feature)
The timestamp will default to the current time, but you can choose to edit the timestamp as you wish.
Select a Diary Group (Gold feature)
The diary group will default to the selected diary group, but you can choose to edit the diary group selection as you wish.
Browse the Exercise Database
Use the Browse all button found at the bottom of the exercise search screen to view our entire exercise database and browse by category. Select an exercise from this list to access the exercise detail view and add to your diary.
Creating a Custom Exercise
You can choose to edit the energy value of one of our existing database exercises, or, create your own custom exercise entirely.
To create a custom exercise, select the green button labeled + Custom Exercise at the bottom of the Exercise search screen. You will then be prompted to name your exercise and enter the appropriate values.
You may also choose to track your activity using a fitness tracker or one of our app integrations such as Google Fit or Apple Health. To learn more about syncing your account, please see the device integrations article.
