Heads up!
Later this year Google and Samsung will be phasing out the ability for apps to directly integrate with Samsung Health and Google Fit. Samsung Health and Google Fit (and the devices that connect to them) will instead use Health Connect to share data between other apps such as Cronometer.
Unfortunately this means that later this year we will no longer support the integration with Google Fit for new users.
If you would like to link your Google Fit data with Cronometer, you can connect your Google Fit to Health Connect and then link Health Connect to Cronometer.
Learn how to connect Cronometer to Health Connect here.
For current Google Fit users, learn about:
Cronometer Imports from Google Fit:
- Blood Glucose
- Blood Pressure
- Body Fat
- Exercise (only logged exercise; General activity is not imported to Cronometer)
- Heart Rate
- Height
- Sleep
- Weight
Exercise Data
To import your exercise data you will need to 'Allow' Cronometer to access your Physical Activity.
When you first download Cronometer, you will see a pop up showing:
Here you will need to select 'Allow' and this will ensure your exercise data can be imported into your Diary.
You can change this setting any time in your phone settings too.
Open your phone Settings > search for Permission Manager in the 'search settings' bar > Permission Manager > scroll down to Physical Activity > select Cronometer > Allow/Don't Allow
Troubleshooting
Any time you link two apps together, there is of course more chance of error; feel free to reach out to us at any time for help at support@cronometer.com and we will be happy to help! Before reaching out, it is recommended to try these steps first:
- Try uninstalling and reinstalling both apps. Once you have reinstalled both apps, re-link to Google Fit via Cronometer
- Ensure Permissions are enabled: Open Google Fit, navigate to the Profile tab, and tap on Settings in the top right corner. Select Manage connected apps. Cronometer should appear in the list (If it doesn't appear, open Cronometer, and try linking to Google Fit again). Tap on the Cronometer Tile to see what you've granted permissions to share.
- If Google Fit data is not importing, try force syncing: You can do this by going to More > Connect Apps & Devices. Select the Calendar icon beside Google Fit. Select the date you'd like to backfill from.
